September 15th, 2022

Fall is here! The air is getting cooler, the leaves are changing colors, pumpkin spice lattes are back, and it’s time for all kinds of fun fall activities in Richmond, TX!  Your whole family will be able to fill plenty of weekends between September and November with these fun fall events!

From Halloween parties and ghost tours to fun in the pumpkin patch and fall festivals in Richmond, TX, there’s always something exciting happening throughout the autumn months here in Fort Bend County. Of course, the problem is that autumn is only about 90 days long, and you’ll want to make the most of all of them! We’ve compiled a guide to the various fall activities around our area. Read on and mark your calendars!

The Fort Bend Museum has a host of events happening throughout the fall, and of all the fall activities in Richmond, TX that we’ve rounded up, the Fort Bend Museum’s are some of the spookiest! What do we mean? Why, there’s the “Season of the Witch” lecture series, which looks at witches as they’re depicted in pop culture, as well as the spine-tingling Fort Bend Museum Ghost Tour—a seasonal favorite! Of course, you won’t want to miss Miss Ivy’s Spooktacular Halloween Party on Saturday, October 29. Once Halloween is over, there’s still plenty more fall fun to be had at the museum, including the Bites & Brews event on Thursday, November 10 from 6:30 to 9 p.m..

Home to a pumpkin patch, hayrides, and much more, Blessington Farm is your destination for wholesome fall activities. The farm kicks off the fall season on September 17th  and is open EVERY Saturday and Sunday until November 20. The farm offers everything from hayrides and barrel trains to gem mining, duck races, the popular Slide Mountain, and animal encounters with pigs, goats, camels, and more. You’ll find amazing things to eat as well as the legendary pick-your-own pumpkin patch! Teachers, be sure to come out for the annual teacher appreciation weekend on September 17 and 18! Bring your valid school ID for free admission!

Can’t get enough outdoor activities in the lovely fall weather? Take a trip through time at the George Ranch Historical Park. Situated on a 20,000-acre working ranch, the park takes visitors through four distinct time periods spanning a full century, from the 1830s to the 1930s, featuring historical reenactments, demonstrations of cattle work and blacksmithing, hands-on activities for all ages, and much more! During the fall, you can enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities that are fun and educational. Experience an 1860s-style garden party, see a one-of-a-kind autumn display made with more than 20 types of pumpkins and gourds, get decked out in your own historical duds to get half-off admission to the 38th Annual Texian Market Days, or nab this year’s Thanksgiving dinner at the Turkey Raffle!

Of course, there are fall festivals in Richmond, TX, and then there’s the Fort Bend County Fair. Running from September 23 through October 2, the fair kicks off with a big parade and is followed by all the fun and excitement that you can imagine. You’ll find a lively midway filled with games and rides, live entertainment from performers like Shenandoah and the Bellamy Brothers, and competitive events galore including coloring contests, tractor pulls, a pet show, and much more!
